Natural Dye Workshop: From Plant to Pigment
Step into the world of natural color in this immersive, hands-on workshop led by Beatriz Sandini, a multidisciplinary designer whose work bridges fashion, biomaterials, and sustainable systems through both research and practice.
Over the course of 2.5 hours, you’ll explore the magic and chemistry of natural dyeing—learning how color is extracted from flowers, berries, mushrooms, and even food waste such as onion skins and avocado pits, and how these pigments bond with natural fibers.
This workshop is designed to be both sensory and reflective. While actively dyeing, we’ll also open up conversations around the environmental impact of industrial dyeing practices, and how reconnecting with the act of color-making can shift our relationship to fashion, materials, and sustainability.
Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of natural dye processes, along with a uniquely dyed piece to take home.
✨ Ticket includes one pair of natural cotton socks to dye during the workshop.
No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands colorful.
